In the beginning of the year I spoke about the importance of self-care. During these stressful times, this is more important than ever! In an effort to encourage staff and students to relax and take care of themselves we are going to have S.E.L.F. Fridays from now through May 1st. S.E.L.F. stands for:
My expectations for staff on Fridays are to have no new instruction. That would allow staff to have adequate time to effectively move forward with remote learning activities. They also would have an opportunity to answer student questions, as well as to practice self-care for themselves.
My expectations for students are for them to catch up on assignments without the stress of having new instruction. Students are also encouraged to connect with friends remotely, connect with family, read, play board games, exercise and perhaps write in a journal.
It is important that we provide everyone with a less stressful end to each week. Everyone has a LOT on their minds right now and we all need a day to refresh. Teachers will be sharing additional information about Fridays as we proceed into the next few weeks.
Keep up the good work!!!
